You’re in, welcome to IENYC: Here’s what’s next

You’re in. Now it’s time to turn your admission into action and get ready for New York City.
IENYC Admissions

Being admitted to IENYC means you are ready to move forward. From here, the process is clear and practical. Each step helps you secure your place, prepare for life in NYC, and get ready for a learning experience built around action, resilience, and real-world challenges.

This guide walks you through what to do next so you can move ahead with confidence.

If you are still preparing your application, you can start with Applying to IENYC: Everything you need to know.

Step 1: Confirm your enrollment at IENYC

Your first step after admission is confirming that you intend to join IENYC.

To do this, you will need to:

  • Complete the Enrollment Response Form
  • Submit the required place reservation deposit within the timeframe indicated in your offer

Once this step is complete, your place in the program is secured and you can move forward with the remaining enrollment process.

Step 2: Next steps for international students

If you are an international student, the following steps are required to prepare your arrival and student visa. These steps may take time, so it is important to begin as soon as possible.

Complete your declaration of finances

You will need to submit a Declaration of Finances so IENYC can issue your Form I-20. This document is required to apply for an F-1 student visa.

Once completed, email the form and all supporting documents to admissions@ienyc.edu.

Please note that any I-20 issued by another institution cannot be used to enroll at IENYC.

Receive your Form I-20 and prepare your visa

After your Declaration of Finances is approved, you will receive your Form I-20 along with guidance on the next steps.

You will then need to:

  • Pay the required SEVIS fee
  • Keep the payment confirmation for your visa appointment
  • Apply for your F-1 student visa at a US embassy or consulate

The visa application process includes completing the DS-160 form, preparing documentation, and attending a visa interview. IENYC will share guidance to help you prepare.

Submit transcripts for course-by-course evaluation

International students are required to submit official academic transcripts for a course-by-course evaluation through an approved evaluation service.

This is a standard requirement in the US and helps ensure academic equivalency.

Finding your place in New York City: Housing options

Finding where to live is an important part of preparing for your move to NYC. Many IENYC students explore the following housing options:

  • Education Housing Services (EHS): student housing across New York City
  • Outpost Club: furnished, all-inclusive shared housing
  • 4Stay: medium- to long-term furnished rentals
  • International House: a residential community for students from around the world

Each option offers a different balance of independence, community, and flexibility, allowing you to choose what fits your lifestyle and pace.

Open to all programs and nationalities, the IENYC Scholarship supports students with strong potential. Priority is given to candidates who may face financial challenges.

Unless otherwise stated, scholarship deadlines align with the program start date and no additional application is required.

Direct Merit Awards

All applicants are automatically considered for merit-based awards during the admissions process, including:

Selected students are informed in their admission letter. Award availability and coverage may vary.

Ready for IENYC?

Completing these steps means more than enrolling. It means preparing yourself for an environment that moves fast, sets a high bar, and expects you to take ownership of your progress.

At IENYC, New York City is your classroom. You will learn by doing, receive honest feedback, and work in real contexts that build grit, resilience, and momentum. You will be supported, but you will also be challenged to step up, make decisions, and act.

Once your place is confirmed, the focus shifts from planning to doing. In the greatest classroom on Earth.

Welcome to IENYC.
It’s your move.
