Global Master in Real Estate Development
IE University recently strengthened its engagement with New York’s real estate sector through the Immersion Week of IE School of Architecture & Design’s Global Master in Real Estate Development. Led by Flavio Tejada and Enrique Used Alonso, Academic Co-Directors of the program, students explored projects across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Governors Island, and Roosevelt Island and met with architects, developers, engineers, and urban leaders.
The program included learning sessions at Arup and the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate, as well as meetings with representatives from Kohn Pedersen Fox, Youngwoo & Associates, SHoP Architects, Steven Harris Architects, and TANKHOUSE. Participants examined urban planning, infrastructure, resilience, mobility, architectural design, development strategies, and the role of design in creating long-term value.
Visits to Bryant Park, Hudson Yards, the High Line, and Little Island explored the development and management of public spaces and major urban projects. The cohort also visited Governors Island, the Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island, the World Trade Center, and areas undergoing transformation across Manhattan and Brooklyn.
