The Master of Science in Finance at IE New York College develops the analytical, quantitative, and strategic capabilities needed for careers in global finance. WORKING IN THE US AFTER YOUR MASTER’S PROGRAM
WORKING IN THE US AFTER YOUR MASTER’S PROGRAM
International students in the Master of Science in Finance are eligible to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT), which allows you to work in the US for up to 12 months post-graduation. And since this is a STEM degree, you may also be eligible for an extension of your OPT for up to two additional years.

Meet the MS in Finance’s program director, Dmitri Shuster
Meet the MS in Finance’s program director, Dmitri Shuster
As faculty chair and program director of the Master of Science in Finance at IENYC, Dmitri brings more than 20 years of experience in international banking. Throughout his career, he has held a range of senior executive roles, including global head of foreign exchange and regional head of trading for the Americas, overseeing trading operations, international markets and enterprise-level risk management. Transitioning to academia, he has taught a range of subjects including global political economy, quantitative analysis and business ethics, drawing on his extensive real-world experience to enrich student learning. Dmitri earned his PhD from the University of Manchester, where he researched the interaction of monetary policy with global markets. He is the author of “Paradoxes of Global Crisis” and a regular contributor to academic forums such as the Leontief Center lectures and IENYC’s Resilience and Reconstruction series.

The Master in Finance is highly customizable and offers three skill-building specializations: Sustainable Finance; Global Markets and Asset Management; and Financing and Alternative Investments, which is particularly relevant in New York City. There are also six elective courses to choose from.
