Admissions Process: Step-by-Step
Admissions test requirements vary by program. Applicants may be required to submit one of the following: the GMAT, GRE, or the IE New York College Admissions Test, which is an internal assessment evaluating logical, verbal, and numerical reasoning in English.
Program-specific testing guidelines are outlined below:
STEP 1: Complete the Online Application Form
Submit your application via our online portal, including academic transcripts, a personal statement, your résumé, and any other required documentation.
- Bachelor degree from an accredited university*
- Official university transcripts (certified translation into English or Spanish)
- 1 page CV/Resume. See the example here.
- Personal statement
- Contact information of two relevant academic or professional references.
- English language certificate – we accept the TOEFL (minimum score of 100 but 105 recommended), the IELTS (minimum score of 7 but 7.5 recommended), Duolingo English Test (minimum score 130) or a Cambridge Advanced level. A certificate is not required if you are a native speaker, you completed an undergraduate degree in English, you have worked and lived for more than two years in an English speaking country, or if you have extensive professional experience in English. Nevertheless, should the Admissions Committee find it necessary, they may request one of the certificates mentioned above** .

*The Online Application Form is only the first step. An entrance exam is required to students. More details on “Entrance exam”.
**The validity of all previously mentioned English language certificates for IE University's admissions process is two years from the date you took the exam.
STEP 2: ADMISSIONS TEST
Applicants may submit the GMAT, GRE, or IE New York College Admissions Test. If concerns arise regarding analytical skills, submission of a standardized test may be required.
STEP 3: Declaration of Finances
To ensure transparency and meet visa requirements, you’ll need to submit documentation that demonstrates your financial capacity to support your studies.
STEP 4: Pre-Committee Review
Our internal team conducts a preliminary evaluation of your full application to ensure eligibility and completeness before moving forward.
STEP 5: PERSONAL INTERVIEW
Selected candidates are invited to a personal interview where we explore your goals, motivation, and alignment with IENYC’s values.
STEP 6: PERSONAL INTERVIEW
The Admissions Committee performs a comprehensive review and makes the final admissions decision. You’ll be notified by email and receive instructions on next steps if admitted.

How do I begin the application process for a Master's program?
To start your application, visit the application portal and create an account. From there, you can fill out the online application form, upload your documents, and track your progress through the admissions journey.
What are the required steps in the Admissions Process?
The admissions process includes the following steps:
- Completing and submitting the online application form.
- Uploading required documents (CV, academic transcripts, English proficiency scores, etc.).
- Presenting A Declaration of Finances (DCF) is necessary for all International Students.
- Taking the IE New York College Admissions Test. or submitting valid GMAT/GRE scores.
- If we think you’d be a good fit we would invite you to complete a personal interview.
- Receiving the admissions committee’s final decision.
Can I submit my application if I am still gathering some of the necessary documents?
Yes. You can begin your application even if some documents are pending. However, your application will only be reviewed once all required materials have been submitted. It’s important to upload any missing items as soon as they become available.
Are there specific application deadlines for the Master's programs?
While there are no official deadlines, IENYC operates on a rolling admissions basis. However, early application is encouraged as spaces in programs are limited and scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
How long does the admissions review process typically take once my application is complete?
After completing all components of your application, including interviews and tests, you can expect to receive a final decision within 10 to 15 days.
What criteria are considered during the admissions evaluation?
The admissions committee considers a holistic view of your profile, including:
- Academic background and transcripts.
- Professional experience and potential.
- Performance on standardized exams.
- Communication and critical thinking skills.
- Motivation and alignment with IENYC values.
- Results from your interviews.
Are there any interviews or assessment stages as part of the application?
Yes. Depending on your program and profile, you may also be invited for a personal interview with a member of the Admissions Team.
Do you offer scholarships or financial aid for Master's students?
Yes. IE University offers a variety of scholarships and financial aid options. Applicants are encouraged to apply for financial aid after submitting their application but before receiving a final admission decision. The earlier you apply, the better your chances of securing funding.
